APA Pool Patches

As a member of the APA pool league you can earn various patches for performance. These patches are awarded to individuals as well as teams. Below is a description of just some of the currently available pool patches that you can win.

The two most common individual patches are the:

Eight ball on the break and the break and run.

The patches for the eight ball on the break and the break and run differ if these are accomplished in the Higher Level Tournaments (HLT).

Sportsmanship patches are awarded (free of charge) towards the end of every session to the players on the top sportsmanship team in each Division.

Each team member is given this patch.

This patch can also be awarded to an individual upon nomination to the apapool website.

The local league is now awarding Top Gun patches to the top performers in each Division.

The program works as follows: for every match you WIN during the regular session, you will earn individual Top Gun points. The points you win are determined by the skill level of your opponent. If you beat a SL-4 you receive 4 points, if you beat a SL-6 you receive 6 points, etc.

These points will accumulate throughout the entire session. We will tally the points once the session is over and issue patches to the Top Gun Performer in each of the following categories (SL 2-3, 4-5, 6-7 in 8-Ball and SL-1-3, 4-5, 6-9 in 9-Ball).

In case of a tie, the tie will be broken by evaluating who had the higher average. Example: both players scored 30 points. Player A beat 6 opponents (5 point average) and player B defeated 5 opponents (6 point average) - player B wins the tiebreaker.

If after using the above system to break the tie, a tie were to still exist, the winner would be determined by comparing how the two players performed towards the end of the session(similar to our team points tie-breaker system). Your patch will be sent to you in your team envelope by week # 4 of the following session. The APA sends out an APA patch to all new members in their membership benefits package each year.).

They also provide patches annually to the top players (SL-7s in 8-Ball, SL-9s in 9-Ball) in the league.

At the end of each session we provide free patches to each of the players on the High Points Finisher team in each Division as well as Division Champions patches to the players on the Tier-1 Divisional Finals winning teams. We also provide National Qualifier patches to the players on the teams who win in the Tri-Annuals and advance to the National Qualifiers. The cost for all replacement patches is $1.00 each.

The following are specialty patches which are available for purchase from the League Office (by those players who actually qualify for the award). The cost is $1.00 per patch with the exception of the Grand Slam patch which is $3.00.
